REC/REW dev update #19

So... I have been fancying over the idea of releasing ver. 0.2.6 within the end of this year. That was, uh... well, a few months ago.

I now have to face the simple truth, I'm not going to make it.

It's not the insane amount of material I've got to beta-test. I mean, I've already checked most of the content I had finalized back when I happily said, "hey the new script is complete!", and I'm also checking the additional stuff I've been adding since then for all that matters.

No, the problem is with the HUGE work that has to be done to make everything consistent. "Consistency" already is a grimaching matter when you have to deal with a 240k words script. Add to the fray the fact, REC/REW heavily relies on time loops and (even worse!) has certain characters aware of that (and consequently remembering the events from previous playthroughs)... well, just think of every scene being painstakingly checked to make sure everybody behaves in a way that fits what he/she actually knows of the story - which in turns depends on the player's choices *in the previous playthroughs*.

Enough to cause a bit of headache. And quite the enterprise for the lone soul working on this project.

Wouldn't be this fun otherwise, uh...

ETA for version 0.2.6 is now mid-february, with the hope of releasing the entire chapter 2 before summer.

By the way... well, happy new year, I guess.
