REC/REW dev update #18


Next update's script is (sort of) finalized. That meaning, I'm still likely going to change a few things here and there before it gets released, and there are a few other lines that will eventually find their way into it - however the impact will be marginal. A negligible side effect of me always giving in to that nasty little voice whispering "now wouldn't it be GREAT if we added *whisper whisper whisper*?"

Beta-testing of the updated script will start soon... and will be a HUGE pain in the ass. The script sky-rocketed to over 220k words. Moreover as new endings get "unlocked" certain dynamics are finally entering the fray: this visual novel will heavily play with time loops and certain characters being aware they are into one - the most basic consequence being: they're going to behave differently to avoid negative outcomes, or they'll have slightly different reactions during dialogues, as if they were like "oh, wait! I'm supposed to say that line now!"

Complexity is growing, too many things must be carefully checked and tracked... and it's part of what makes it fun, I'll concede that.

All this mess however is tomorrow's pain. Tonight it's just about sitting on a sofa and relaxing (mischievous girls permitting).
