REC/REW dev update 2

Development of the first full release of REC/REW is proceeding at a steady pace. I'd say I'm done with playtesting, and I'm now addressing a few glitches I encountered during my walkthrough. Of course I still feel there's something hidden in the script which I could not find, however... well, I can't just sit here and read everything again and again and again and - you get the idea.

I've set the "official" release date to November, 25th as to have plenty of time to fix everything I found so far, plus whatever I may find in the next days. This update will feature the third and last female lead in my cast.

A few stats on the upcoming release:

- REC/REW will hit (and get slightly past) the 40k words limit. That means 3-5 hours game time (roughly)

- It will have 3 main female leads however this first chapter does not focus on any of her specifically. This is meant to be an introductory chapter aiming at "setting the scene" for what's to come.

- There will be 3 different endings. Both the "bad" and the "neutral" ending could be further split into two variants each however since they basically lead to the same result I'm not counting slight differences in flavour and/or topping as "different"!

- Speaking of which: the story will start off as a "slice of life", with our main character enjoying his life as a college freshman. It will then lean towards the "mystery" side as he tries to answer the questions behind his best friend's death

Present list of "must-do-before-release" stuff includes:

- a few graphic issues and glitches that mandatorily have to be fixed

- a final spell-check

- a rethinking of the GUI. While it seemed like a good idea at first, it now feels needlessly bulky. I've got to make it much more minimal and lightweight. This is likely going to be postponed to an intermediate "fix" release (kind of a Christmas gift?)

And now, for the generic dev's rants: the more I'm reading my Visual Novel, the more I'm becoming confident about it. I mean, of course I'm rather confident of my work otherwise I would not have the guts to release it. It's just... yeah, so far I got basically no feedback. Might be because I've decided to put a demo and at the same time I announced a full release was on its way in a relatively short time frame or whatever, but the point is: I'm still missing a feedback from the rest of the world.

Right now however I'm so full of confidence on what I wrote that I'm going like, "the hell with that". Which for somebody with my personality is quite a thing!
